The tour of Cornwall was excellent. Nick knew a lot about local towns and sites. He pointed out many things we did not know about before we visited. It was very nice not having to drive ourselves. We never had to worry about directions or parking as it was all taken care of. I highly recommend this tour company. It made exploring the area of Cornwall easy and stress free.

I arranged a custom family history tour with Nick during some free time on a group tour. He created a thoughtful 5-hour itinerary around Camborne and Redruth, taking me to mining sites, cemeteries, and town centers connected to my ancestors. Nick was well-prepared and knowledgeable, and made the experience both informative and meaningful. Highly recommend!

Nick went above and beyond taking me on a fantastic Day Tour of West Cornwall. He exceeded all of my (high) expectations. Nick’s knowledge is extensive— of the rich history of the area, of the many sights and activities available to a first time visitor to the area, and of traffic patterns and parking spots. He kindly adjusted our schedule to accommodate accessing the causeway at Saint Michael’s Mount at low tide and tweaked our itinerary so we could enjoy some places that topped my wish list. I look forward to booking another wonderful tour with him next time I return.

Nick’s tour was FANTASTIC, to say the least. He went out of his way to design an outstanding set of tours, and for us it was the Lizard Peninsula and North Cornwall. Both were well planned and the scenery fabulous. He is a wonderful guide, knowledgeable and very personable, and just a lot of fun! Highly recommend his tours.

We've had a wonderful tour of the Lizard peninsular with Nick as our guide for the day. We got to see many beautiful places that we would never have got to, or found otherwise. Nick was extremely informative, accommodating, great fun and sensitive to all our needs (knees and hills!), he even organised fantastic weather! Thank you Cornwall Tours, we will definitely be booking again in the future as it's a perfect way to see this beautiful County.

Nick was absolutely incredible as both a transport from LHR to our Airbnb in Charlestown, and as a tour guide. Nick took my best friend and I on the most amazing adventure hike across the coast of Cornwall, all the way to Lands End, complete with laughs, history of the region, and proper English tea overlooking Logan Rock. Nick single-handedly made the tour seamless, scenic, interesting beyond belief, and took us to parts of Cornwall most only dream of seeing. If you can go on a tour with Nick, don’t walk, RUN! He is THE BEST!!

Nick's Cornish Genealogy Tour Notes

We offer single-day or multi-day ancestry tours throughout Cornwall.

We combine your family history (using the information you provide) with our local knowledge and some additional on-the-ground research to curate a bespoke itinerary, tailored for you.

We’ll include stops at some local hidden gems and highlights from our sightseeing tours wherever possible.

For those who need extra help with family history research, we can also connect you with an expert Cornish genealogist.

We work with you to research and plan your tour before you arrive in Cornwall.

Each day of your tour we’ll pick you up in a comfortable, fully licensed vehicle with a licensed and knowledgeable driver/guide for the day (approx 8 hours) and drop you back to your accommodation at the end of the day.

We also provide complimentary drinks and snacks in the vehicle.

Most guests like to pick up a Cornish Pasty en route for lunch and maybe stop for a traditional Cornish cream tea towards the end of the day. We know the best places to stop!

We can also recommend traditional historic inns or fine-dining restaurants for those wanting a more leisurely lunch stop.

The first step is to set a date for your visit to Cornwall. So please get in touch to discuss your plans and our availability!

Bespoke Family History Tour of Redruth & Surrounding Areas

I joined a 5-day group tour of Cornwall and reached out to Nick of Cornwall Tours to arrange a custom family history excursion during the group’s free time. My great-grandfather emigrated from Cornwall to the United States in 1888, and I wanted to visit several sites I had uncovered in my research.

I shared the key locations in and around Camborne and Redruth with Nick, along with my group’s itinerary to avoid overlap. He created a thoughtful 5-hour plan and met me in Falmouth to begin the tour. We visited mining sites, cemeteries, residential areas, and town centers—all brought to life by Nick’s extensive knowledge of local history.

He was exceptionally well prepared, and I came away with both a deeper understanding of Cornwall’s past and a very personal connection to my own family’s story. Standing where my ancestors once lived and worked was truly moving.

I highly recommend Nick and Cornwall Tours for anyone seeking a personalized and meaningful experience in Cornwall.

Wonderful Tour!

My son and I really enjoyed the Cornwall tour with Julian!

We found a number of family names on graves that match the right town and time period to be relatives. I have more research to do to see how they all connect, but it was amazing to find multiple family names at each place we visited!

Julian was just a joy to spend the day with, and we appreciated that he went our pace and was flexible on where we visited.

Thanks for all the advanced coordination you did and for the informative binder!

Teal Swan Ancestral Tour

I have come to Cornwall to track down a few branches of my family tree. To understand this part of my heritage on my mother’s side and to deepen my own ancestral healing. And it has been completely surreal. Surreal to run my fingers over their gravestones. To stand in the exact spot on a floor of The Church of Saint James the Great, where each one of my ancestors (going back to at least the 1500s) was christened and married. To touch the stone walls of the houses that they lived in, which still stand today…
